About Kimberly

Kimberly Marnell is a multidisciplinary artist and photographer based in Irvine, California, whose work explores our relationship with nature, creativity and self-reliance.

Working across mixed media, watercolor, acrylic, ink and photography, she creates evocative works in which the human figure and the natural world exist in quiet dialogue. Botanical forms, organic textures, light and gesture become visual metaphors for growth, adaptation, connection and renewal.

At the heart of her practice is a fascination with the knowledge people once carried as an ordinary part of life: how to make, repair, grow, build and create with what is available, and what might be regained by returning to it.

With more than two decades of experience in photography and education, she brings a strong understanding of composition, light and visual storytelling to her fine-art practice. She is the founder of Haven Art House.
